A beacon of hope stands tall. This is The O.S. House of Prayer Ministries. Its story begins with a vision. Bishop Tony Shomari Marshall dreamed of a church unlike any other. He envisioned a place of sound Biblical teaching and authentic Spirit-filled worship.
The O.S. House of Prayer Ministries wasn’t built overnight. It started with a small group of 12 founding members. They held their first service in 2000 at Greater Rehoboth COGIC in Dearborn. They met in a home before finding their first property at 4627 24th Street in Detroit. This wasn’t just a building; it was a testament to their unwavering faith.
The church moved again in 2013. This time to 16240 W 7 Mile Road. They paid off that building in just three years. This demonstrates their dedication and the growth of their community. Even the COVID-19 pandemic couldn’t stop their progress. In 2021 they purchased their current home debt-free. It’s located at 10120 Plymouth Road.
The O.S. House of Prayer Ministries is more than just a building. It’s a vibrant community. They offer various ministries. These include community feeding and clothing programs. Spiritual advising and counseling are also provided. They conduct seminars workshops and support youth and marriage ministries. Their dedication extends to hospital and prison ministries. Thousands have been blessed by Dr Marshall’s work.
