Perhaps you’ve heard of a church that launched in New York City’s Two Bridges neighborhood. That church is Kings’ Church. It started in September 2018.

Kings’ Church has a vision. It seeks Heaven. It unearths treasure. It speaks truth. It touches the community.

Hunting Heaven means having a dynamic relationship with Jesus. The church seeks the Kingdom of Heaven first. Then all other things come thereafter.

Unearthing Treasure means serving God’s people. People are the treasure. The church helps people discover their unique gifts. This gift is given to those around them. It displays God’s Love. It is shown through family, business, and art.

Truth is important to Kings’ Church. Jesus came full of grace and truth. Many churches are grace-heavy and truth-light. Grace invites people in. Truth frees them. Without truth, Christians live in bondage and confusion. Truth is based on God’s word.

Touching the Community means applying Christianity at street level. Metaphysical truths need earthly application. Otherwise, Christians become insular. Kings’ Church ministers to kids, families, teachers, and local leaders. This gives substance to their song. It allows them to see the Kingdom come. It starts in their homes. Then it spreads to halls of influence.

Kings’ Church believes in the Bible. It says the Bible was written under the Holy Spirit’s direction. The Old and New Testaments reveal God’s will. They are without error.

They believe in one God. This God exists eternally in three persons. These are the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are equal. They are eternal.

Kings’ Church believes humankind was made in God’s image. People are set apart from creation. They were made for community with God. Because of Adam and Eve’s choice, people are born with a bent toward sin. People have sinned and are sinners. Sin is a violation of God’s law. It is forgiven through Christ’s sacrifice.

Kings’ Church believes that Jesus is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin. He established God’s Kingdom on earth. He died on a cross for all people. He atoned for our sins. He rose from the dead. He returned to the Father. He will return again.

Salvation is a free gift from God. People receive it through faith in Jesus Christ. It is apart from human effort. Jesus’ shed blood and resurrection provide forgiveness. Only those who receive Jesus are born of the Spirit. They become children of God. They are given eternal life.

God offers grace. This includes the Holy Spirit. The Spirit enables people to love God and others.

Kings’ Church recognizes spiritual gifts. Believers should minister according to their gifts. These gifts are central to spiritual growth. They are to be desired. They should be developed. They should be exercised according to the Bible.

Kings’ Church believes the Church was established by Christ. It is strengthened by the Holy Spirit. It carries out the Great Commission. This continues until Christ returns.

Baptism is an outward sign of inner transformation. Communion represents Christ’s death and resurrection. Through Communion, Christians participate in Christ’s life.

Jesus will return. He will establish an eternal Kingdom. He will make right the brokenness of the world. Everlasting life will be granted to all who have faith in Christ.
