“Just trust me.” That was the divine response that set in motion the founding of Royalhouse Chapel International. Here we are standing before The King’s House Family Chapel. It is a vibrant part of that larger Royalhouse family.
Royalhouse Chapel International began with a destiny-changing encounter in Holland on June 19th 1991. The Most Rev Sam Korankye Ankrah experienced this encounter. He was instructed to pray and given a second chance to start a ministry. God ordained him a bishop.
Before Rev Sam Korankye Ankrah returned to Ghana in November 1992 his wife Rev Mrs Rita Korankye Ankrah affectionately called Mama Rita started Sunday services. She worked with members of Showers of Blessings. This fellowship had been started in Ghana before he left for Holland.
The meetings began in March 1991 at the GES Model Nursery School in Accra North Ridge. Twelve adults and five children attended that first Sunday service. They operated under the name Abundant Life Missions International.
In July 1993 the name changed to Bible Worship Centre. Later it became International Bible Worship Centre. This reflected the new vision of Rev Sam Korankye Ankrah. In 1999, God inspired a further change. The church became Royalhouse Chapel International. This name gave the church a global focus.
Rev Sam Korankye Ankrah assumed full leadership in January 1993. That year, the number of worshippers increased significantly. It grew from 30 to 150 adults. By 1994, they needed a larger space.
The church relocated to the Agricultural Development Bank canteen. But the influx of members continued. The ADB canteen became too small for Sunday services. So the church moved again to the Blackmoore and Sons warehouse on the Ring Road.
From October 1994 to November 2000 the warehouse was transformed. It became a worship center where many healings miracles and deliverances occurred.
With continued growth a bigger place was needed. On November 4 2000 thousands attended an All Night prayer vigil. Around 4 am they marched to Ahenfie. This was the newly acquired church property near the Obetsebi Lamptey Circle. It was symbolically a cross over from Egypt to the Promised Land.
Today Royalhouse Chapel International continues to grow. The King’s House Family Chapel stands as a testament to their mission. It is a mission of community family and faith. It demonstrates the message of hope through outreach programs. It supports the less fortunate in Africa. The church’s praise worship prayer and fellowship define who they are.
Royalhouse Chapel International has over 230 local assemblies in Ghana. It also has 22 international missions in Africa the UK and the USA. Over 30 affiliate churches exist worldwide.
