The Good Shepherd Christian Church began its journey in a humble home in Wimbledon Estates, which served as both rectory and chapel. The burgeoning congregation quickly outgrew this space. Soon, weekend services were held at Benfer Elementary School, affectionately nicknamed “St. Benfer’s”. Later, services moved to Strack Intermediate School, known as “Our Lady of Strack”. In those early days, the parish was transient. Supplies were packed into a van after every Sunday mass and stored in a parishioner’s garage.
