Ever heard of a temple whose deity’s blessings are said to cause miracles? That’s Thakurdwara Temple for you. We are standing in Ajrara village near Ghaziabad. This temple is not just a structure of stone and mortar. It is a beacon of faith.
Thakurdwara Temple stands on the left bank of the Kali Nadi River. This river begins its journey in the Doon Valley. It travels 150 km through Saharanpur and other districts. Finally, it merges with the Yamuna River. The temple’s location beside the quietly flowing Kali Nadi River adds to its peaceful atmosphere.
Legend says King Ajay Pal built this temple. He wanted to impress the deity he worshipped. After ruling for a long time, King Ajaipal embraced Islam. He became a follower of the Sufi Saint Khawaja Sahib. Ajaipal was so amazed by the saint’s powers. He desired to live a pious life.
Devotees believe Thakurdwara Temple possesses extraordinary powers. These powers have a miraculous effect on their lives. The temple structure is simple. It features a main shrine enclosed by a Mandapam. The Mandapam has beautifully painted pillars.
The history of Thakurdwara Temple goes back about 700 years. Inside, you will find idols of Hanuman Ji and Thakur Ji Saligram. Also, there are idols of Khatu Shyam and Skandmata Baglamukhi. People believe that if you ask with a true heart, every wish is granted.
During Navratri, special pujas are performed at Thakurdwara Temple. Devotees come from faraway places to seek blessings. They pray for peace, happiness, and prosperity in their families. Bhajan-Kirtans create a devotional atmosphere here. Devotees sing and dance with great enthusiasm. It is said that the deity fulfills every wish asked with a true heart.
Interestingly, Skandmata Baglamukhi’s idol is unique to this temple. The idol was consecrated on January 26. Devotees visit from Shamli and other places to see it. During Navratras, special prayers are offered for nine days.
