Notable Australian players competed here in the mid-20th century, attracting the attention of the German television network which sent three camera crews to film the event in 1956. The club hosted the Davis Cup match between Germany and Austria on these same courts from May 14th to 16th in 1971. The German team emerged victorious with a final score of 4:1.

The renowned Davis Cup player Philipp Kohlschreiber honed his skills here, and Christian Weis, who climbed to 180th place on the ATP World Ranking in 1991, also made his mark on this very court.
