We stand before the Teatro Manzoni, a place where the echoes of laughter, applause, and the hushed whispers of countless dramas linger. Established in 1870, the Teatro Manzoni originally graced the Piazza San Fedele. It quickly ascended to become a beacon of theatrical brilliance, attracting luminaries like the legendary Eleonora Duse and the captivating Sarah Bernhardt. The 20th century, however, brought a devastating blow. During World War II, the Teatro Manzoni fell victim to the relentless Allied bombing raids in August 1943, its physical form reduced to rubble. But the spirit of the arts is not easily extinguished. Rising from the ashes, the Teatro Manzoni found a new home on Via Alessandro Manzoni, rebuilt in 1950 under the guidance of architect Alziro Bergonzo. Now under the steady hand of Fininvest since 1978, the Teatro Manzoni continues to enchant audiences with its rich legacy of drama, comedy, and artistic expression.
