The Institute of Pedagogy expanded further. It started a postgraduate program between 1984 and 1989. A significant change occurred when all pedagogy institutes in Kabul and the provinces joined the Ministry of Higher Education. This realignment strengthened the central role of teacher training within Afghanistan’s education system. The Teacher Education Department benefited significantly from this consolidation.
