TAR EC College is a non-profit private college. It is registered with Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education. The college is located in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. It sits next to Tunku Abdul Rahman University College Kuala Lumpur Main Campus.
The college was established in 1993. Back then it was the only private non-profit school in Malaysia. TAR EC College concentrated on pre-school teacher training. Over the years more than 2500 pre-school teachers have graduated.
In 2015 TAR EC College signed an agreement. The Memorandum of Understanding was with Taiwan’s National Pingtung University. This allows graduates to further their studies there. The institute also partners with professional bodies. These include the Early Childhood Care and Education Council. It also includes the Association of Professional Early Childhood Educators Malaysia.
TAR EC College has a strong mission. It focuses on child advocacy. This involves enabling every child to have access to quality education. This is made possible by well-trained teachers. They focus that quality early childhood education is on the right pedagogy. Right pedagogy implies the right methodology.

Currently TAR EC College offers several programs. They have a Diploma in Early Childhood Education. There is also a Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education. The college also offers a Basic Child Care Course. It is accredited by the Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat Malaysia. This course follows the Childcare Centers Act of 1984.
TAR EC College also has partner institutions. These are Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman. Another partner is Quest International University Perak. They also have partners in Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
TAR EC College’s colours are purple red orange black and white. These colours represent its vibrant commitment. It shows the college’s dedication to early childhood education.
