“Castles in the sky” is what some call the homes in Taman Duta. This exclusive residential neighborhood is one of Kuala Lumpur’s most prestigious.

Taman Duta sits along Jalan Duta near Bukit Tunku. It is a stone’s throw from Parliament House. This tranquil neighborhood offers large bungalows and villas. They are often hidden behind imposing gates. Some even tower over the tallest trees.

Taman Duta is easily accessible. Jalan Duta, Jalan Semantan, and Jalan Ledang all lead here. It is minutes from Pusat Bandar Damansara, Bangsar, and Sri Hartamas. Many amenities are nearby.

The upper class calls Taman Duta home. Business tycoons, professionals, and politicians reside here. Properties in this enclave start in the millions. Besides bungalows, there are also low-density condominiums. Seri Duta I and Seri Duta II offer other housing options.

Mansions in Taman Duta are unique. Owners personally design and extend them. No two units are alike. Each has different built-ups and layouts. A typical bungalow here carries a seven-figure price tag. Rentals start around RM16000 per month.

Houses in Taman Duta are highly sought after. Its proximity to Kenny Hills adds to its appeal. This quiet and hilly area is home to the rich and famous.

The federal government owns land in Taman Duta. This Duta enclave has been subject to legal disputes. The government acquired the 106.72-hectare parcel in 1956. It paid RM1.32 million with plans for a diplomatic enclave. Semantan Estate, the original owner, challenged the acquisition.

In 2009, the High Court ruled in favor of Semantan Estate. It declared the government had trespassed. The Court of Appeal and Federal Court upheld this. In August 2024, the High Court ordered the government to return the land. The government intends to appeal.

Semantan Estate was founded by Eng Lian Group and Ng Chin Siu & Sons Rubber Estates Sdn Bhd. Eng Lian Group developed much of Bangsar. Ng Chin Siu & Sons had holdings in Mont Kiara and Desa Sri Hartamas.

Taman Duta falls within the Segambut constituency. Public transportation is available. KA05 KTM Segambut and rapidKL bus T821 serve the area.

Driving through Taman Duta is an experience. It is a glimpse into a world of luxury and exclusivity. The “castles in the sky” stand as testaments to success.
