A challenging climb awaits you. This is Tabur Extra Hill. We stand at the foot of this formidable peak a place known for its demanding trails and breathtaking views.

Tabur Extra Hill is not for the faint of heart. It’s part of the larger Bukit Tabur range a popular destination for experienced hikers in Kuala Lumpur. The hill is renowned for its steep ascents and narrow paths. Some sections require the use of ropes for safe passage. The trail is often described as difficult and slow going.

Our journey begins at the end of Jalan K5 in Taman Melawati. The initial part of the hike shares a path with Tabur Far East. But soon we’ll diverge. We’ll traverse a saddle between Tabur Far East and Tabur Extra Hill. Then we’ll ascend a significant hump before descending to the base of the Extreme rock face.

The path continues through the forest. It’s a narrow trail clinging to the steep hillside. You’ll need sure footing to avoid slipping. A vertical climb of about 15 meters awaits us. A helpful rope is there to aid our ascent.

The incline becomes even steeper reaching 70 to 80 degrees in places. There are no steps. You’ll need all your strength and focus to avoid sliding. The path is not easy. It demands caution and respect.

Finally we reach the rocky ridge. We can either continue to the end of this ridge or head towards the next peak. A significant crevice about 3 meters wide and 8 meters deep stands in our way. Crossing it would require ropes for safety. Beyond the crevice lies a challenging 30-meter climb to the highest peak.

This is Tabur Extra Hill. A test of endurance. A reward of stunning views. Remember your journey is about more than reaching the summit. It’s about the experience the challenge the connection with nature. The memories created here will last long after you descend.
