Soaring twelve meters high the Superunification Sculpture stands tall. It dominates the Honeypark landscape on the outskirts of Dublin. This magnificent artwork is the vision of Ruth E Lyons. It’s a powerful statement of contemporary art. Its meaning and significance will endure.

Superunification is an abstract sculpture. Lyons’ inspiration comes from the study of our universe. It reflects a search for a theory of everything. For the artist the sculpture unifies large and small scales in our lives. It reminds us of existence’s unfathomable nature. Yet it also connects different perspectives. It ties together the sky the sea and the land surrounding Honeypark.

The sculpture’s construction involved a remarkable feat of engineering. Angle Ring Company provided the steel. They used induction bending to create the 406.4mm diameter tubes. These tubes were 16mm thick bent to tight radii. This technique minimized deformation. This allowed for easy welding and shaping before galvanizing and painting. GSTech Engineering installed the finished sculpture in March 2022.

The Cosgrave Property Group commissioned the project. They described Superunification as aesthetically compelling. The vibrant colors of the hot-dip galvanized and painted mild steel catch the eye. They shift and change depending on the light. The sculpture’s fluid form is breathtaking.

Imagine yourself standing before Superunification. Feel the gentle breeze. Notice how the colors shimmer in the sunlight. The artwork invites contemplation. It inspires awe. It encourages us to consider the vastness of the universe and the complexities of our own lives. The Superunification Sculpture is more than just art. It is a powerful symbol of unity connection and the enduring quest for understanding. It leaves a lasting impression on all who encounter it. This remarkable piece of public art is a true gem of Dublin. It shows the power of collaboration between artists engineers and developers.
