Imagine a church that started with a dream. Here, at Sunnyside Baptist Church in Atlanta, Rev. Jack Campbell saw a sign in the sky. A bright red ball burst over the Sunnyside community in 1947, and he felt called to create a new church. People in the community donated their time, talent, and money. The church was founded in 1947 by 14 charter members who met in the old Sunnyside School Building. The church has been flourishing ever since. The original location was in the old school building. After a while, it became obvious that a different location would be needed. Mr. E. Hooven donated the land for the new church. Sunnyside has continued to grow and is dedicated to serving the community. The church is a reminder of the power of faith and the strength of community. The stories of the founding members and their dreams have inspired people for over 70 years.
