These plants, known for their resilience in winter, represent Sun Yat-sen’s unwavering character and integrity. The second part of the park, the Tourism Zone, was completed in 1996. It offers a more recreational experience. This zone features a rockery, a waterfall, and a pavilion, designed to encourage visitors to pause and reflect. The vibrant colors of the fragrant flowers and various plants evoke the beauty of Xiangshan, or Fragrant Hills. A children’s play area, designed with concentric circles, celebrates the unity of nationalities. At its center, figures representing children of different ethnicities stand together, symbolizing a harmonious and inclusive China. The Sun Yat-sen Statue in Hong Kong isn’t just a monument.
