Students from P.S. 59 and residents of Sumner Houses relied on it.
But look around you now. The revitalized playground boasts a brand new ball field. It has natural turf new dugouts and bleachers. The basketball courts are completely reconstructed. There are also new swings and spray showers for the kids. Adults can enjoy a state-of-the-art outdoor fitness center. And get this a row of white bar stools a first for any NYC park.
