Crain developed Garden Oaks just north of the Houston Heights, envisioning a community of charming bungalows and mid-century homes. He even used kits from his own company, Crain Ready-Cut House Company, for many of the houses. Today, Sue Barnett 43rd Street Triangle provides a peaceful respite amidst the bustling neighborhood, a quiet reminder of the paperwork and approvals that brought Garden Oaks to life.
