“Tu sei futuro” it announces to the city. Here at Step to the Future, those words invite us to explore our connection to tomorrow.

Step to the Future opened in May 2022. It resides in the former rail yard of Porta Romana one of Milan’s most dynamic areas. This area also houses Fondazione Prada. The future Olympic Village for Milano-Cortina 2026 will also be located here.

ACPV Architects Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel designed the Step to the Future building. It faces a large plaza and garden named for Adriano Olivetti. The building’s reflecting letters blend into the surroundings. They suggest the erasure of boundaries.

The name Step to the Future signifies movement. It anticipates the visitor experience inside. Step wants you to discover your connection to the future. The experience unfolds in ten phases. Dynamic installations, immersive spaces and multimedia screens await. A dedicated app enables interaction throughout the journey.

Cristina Paciello, Head of Step, says Step connects visitors with the future. It stimulates awareness of the digital transformation in progress. This transformation changes how we work, study and live. A virtual guide outlines a personalized itinerary. Visitors become active explorers of stimulating information.

Step is not just an experience it is also a space for events. The 1200 sqm interior can welcome up to 400 people. Studio Giò Forma designed the modular zones. These zones suit any event type. Meetings, conventions, workshops, and product launches are all possible. Companies can personalize the technological installations. An integrated audio-video circuit facilitates this.

The Theatre offers 170 sqm of space. It has a kinetic LED wall. This wall can be adjusted towards the interior or plaza. There is a stepped arena and an audio-video control room. The outdoor Terrace on the water spans 144 sqm. It is a multifunctional zone connected to the Theatre’s LED wall. Spazio Square offers about 100 sqm. Its large entrance accommodates exhibitions of very large products. An education space of about 100 sqm is also available. It features folding tables for workshops. A mezzanine-level meeting room seats ten participants.

Step to the Future offers immersive spaces. The Jobs room uses ten ultra-stretched monitors. Magic is entirely reflecting. Wall is a videowall measuring 6.48 x 1.36 meters.

Step to the Future is more than just a building. It is a journey into the future. Step is a place where you can explore the possibilities of tomorrow. It is a place where you can connect with the future.
