The Stadthalle Görlitz’s foundation stone was laid in June 1906. The building’s costs totaled 1.14 million marks. On May 9, 1908, the ceiling collapsed. Five died and eleven were injured. The inner hall was badly damaged. The festive inauguration took place on October 27, 1910. About 2200 guests attended.
