Imagine echoes of laughter and sizzling sausages. This is the St. Georgshütte. It is more than just a shelter. It is a place where memories are made.

The St. Georgshütte is nestled in St. Georgen. It sits on the edge of the Mooswald forest. You will find it near the Keidel Mineral-Thermalbad Freiburg. The St. Georgshütte is managed by the Städtisches Forstamt Freiburg.

This cozy cabin offers a recreational space. It features a grill area. The St. Georgshütte provides a perfect setting for gatherings. The interior boasts benches and tables. It comfortably accommodates up to 60 people. An additional 50 can find shelter under the eaves.

Inside you’ll find essential amenities. These include toilets, a shower, and two ovens. There is also electricity and warm running water available. Please note that the water is not suitable for drinking. The kitchen comes equipped with a stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator.

The St. Georgshütte provides ample tableware. There are 50 each of plates, knives, forks, soup plates, and spoons. Also included are wine glasses, water glasses, and coffee sets.

Outside there is a grill and a fountain. Seven beer garden sets are available. Remember to bring your own grilling wood.

To rent the St. Georgshütte contact the Forstamt. Keep in mind that booking well in advance is crucial. Weekends often require a three-year lead time. A deposit of 150 euros is required. It will be refunded after inspection and key return.

Rental costs vary. Expect to pay 180 euros for Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday rentals. The price is the same for weekdays before public holidays. Weekday rentals cost 130 euros. The rental period spans 24 hours. It starts at 12:00 noon.

The St. Georgshütte is easily accessible. Take bus line 35 from Munzinger Straße. If you are driving, it’s located near the thermal baths.

Note that amplified music outdoors is prohibited. This is due to the hut’s location in the forest. The St. Georgshütte is for private use only. Commercial events are not permitted.
