Let’s step back in time. Imagine the Delhi of the late 1970s a city on the cusp of modernization. Father Thomas Thoomkuzy a visionary missionary saw the need for a school that would not only impart knowledge but also instill strong moral values. With the support of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales his vision took shape.
The foundation stone was laid in 1977 by Shri Sikandar Bhakt. Rt. Rev. Dr. Luciano Storero blessed it. From those early days St. Francis De Sales School was destined for greatness.

It shapes its extracurricular activities and its commitment to social responsibility. St. Francis De Sales School aims to develop well-rounded individuals. St. Francis De Sales School is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education. It offers a comprehensive academic program from grades 1 to 12. Students can choose from various academic streams in classes 11 and 12. These streams include commerce with marketing, commerce with mathematics, and science with biology and maths. There is also science with engineering graphics and science with computer science.
Beyond academics St. Francis De Sales School offers a wide range of extracurricular activities. These include clubs such as the Quiz Club, the Eco Club “Haritima”, and the Debate Club. There is also an Astronomy Club, a Science Club, and a Media in Education group. Students can also participate in Dance Club, Art Club, and Western and Indian Music Clubs. The Robotics Club is also very popular. These activities provide students with opportunities to explore their interests develop their talents and learn valuable skills.
The House system fosters a sense of community and healthy competition among students. Akbar House, Ashoka House, Chanakya House, and Pope Paul House each with its own color compete in various inter-house events throughout the year. These competitions include quiz events, athletics, sports events, and debate competitions.
St. Francis De Sales School also hosts the Fr. Peter Mermier Football Tournament. Schools from across Delhi participate in this tournament. It promotes sportsmanship and provides a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills. The school also organizes a Cross-Country race to raise social awareness.
Over the years St. Francis De Sales School has been led by a series of dedicated principals. These include Fr. Agnelo Fernandes, Fr. Joseph Pottemmel, and Fr. A. M. Sebastian. Fr. Mathew Thayil, Fr. Joseph T. P., Fr. Jacob Karamakuzhyil, Fr. Melroy Almeida, and Fr. Anil George also served. Currently Fr. Anthony Amaladoss leads the school continuing its tradition of excellence.
