“Is this where learning takes a different path?” a curious parent might ask, standing before St. Christopher’s School. St. Christopher’s School isn’t your typical high school. Established in 2010 in the serene suburb of New Alexandra Park, Harare, Zimbabwe, St. Christopher’s is a beacon of hope for students who learn differently. This independent, co-educational day school, nestled at 2 Tonbridge Way, is governed by the St. Christopher’s Trust. The school’s story began in 2008 with a group of parents seeking a nurturing environment for their children. These children, facing challenges like ADHD and dyslexia, needed a place where they could thrive. St. Christopher’s started modestly in a converted house, with living rooms transformed into classrooms. From its humble beginnings with just eight students in 2009, the school has grown. Yet, it retains its commitment to small class sizes, typically no more than 14 students. This allows for personalized attention and a focus on individual needs. St. Christopher’s adheres to the IGCSE, AS Level, and A Level syllabuses. The curriculum spans a wide range of subjects. From art and biology to music and physics, students explore diverse fields of knowledge. St. Christopher’s is more than just academics. It’s part of a vibrant community. Students participate in sports programs offered by the Hellenic Academy. Many also pursue additional activities, such as horse riding and triathlon. St. Christopher’s School, a proud member of the Association of Trust Schools, is a testament to the power of individualized education. It’s a place where learning challenges are met with understanding and support, where every student has the opportunity to achieve excellence.
