A beautiful little Gothic-style gem stands before us St Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church. This church in Baillieston Glasgow has a unique story. Originally worshipers gathered in an adapted barn. Imagine a humble beginning for such a significant place.

In 1880 a church cum school was built marking a step forward for the community. However the current St Bridget’s Church was built in 1893. The famous London-based architects Pugin and Pugin designed it. Their expertise brought this architectural gem to life.

Look above the west door to see a statue of St Bridget. This statue welcomes all who enter St Bridget’s Church. Inside you can find a two-light window depicting St Bride and St Columba. Shona McInnes created this beautiful window.
