The temple expanded becoming a full Saivite temple. In 2006 it underwent a major consecration ceremony the Maha Kumbabishegam. This marked a new era for the Sri Siva Muneeswarar Alayam.

Today the Sri Siva Muneeswarar Alayam is a bustling center of activity. It houses many deities including Moolavar Sri Gangathereswarar and Thayaar Sri Mangalaambigai. You’ll also find Sri Ganapathy Sri Murugan and several others. The temple hosts numerous religious events. Special poojas are performed throughout the year. Major festivals like Maha Sivarathiri and Navarathiri are celebrated grandly.
