Established in 1985 Sri Krishna Temple has been the headquarters of ISKCON Malaysia. ISKCON is the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. The society formed to spread the practice of Bhakti yoga. This yoga focuses thoughts and actions to please Lord Krishna.
Sri Krishna Temple is more than just a building. It’s a spiritual oasis dedicated to Krishna consciousness. It aims at developing God-conscious individuals for a better society. Inside Sri Krishna Temple three thrones stand on the main altar. Lord Baladeva sits on the central throne. He is Krishna’s brother. Goddess Subhatra sits next to him. She is Krishna’s sister. Lord Jagannatha sits in that sequence. Flanking them are deities of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Lord Nityananda. To the right is a photo of Sri Sri Radha Syamasunder. Srila Prabhupada is worshiped every day. His deity stands to the right of the main hall.
Sri Krishna Temple is dedicated to Lord Sri Krishna. He appears in his deity form as Jagannatha. Jagannatha means Lord of the Universe. Followers of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu accept Lord Sri Krishna as the Supreme Lord. Lord Jagannatha is one of his many forms.

Krishna Jeyanthi is a grand celebration here. The temple bursts with energy during the 13 days of festivities. On the last day Gokula Asthami is celebrated. A holy cow is brought in for Komadha puja. This sanctifies the temple. The cow is Lord Krishna’s favorite animal. Devotees perform Kola Attam and Kumi Attam. They dance with sticks and clapping hands. This is done for the pleasure of Lord Krishna and his consorts.
