Spring Valley

Nestled just west of the glittering Las Vegas Strip lies Spring Valley. It’s a place where the thrill of the city meets the tranquility of the suburbs. Spring Valley is a sprawling, unincorporated town, a hidden gem in Clark County, Nevada. It was officially founded in May 1981. Spring Valley wasn’t always the bustling community it is today. In the 1960s, the land was home to the Stardust International Raceway, a dusty track where engines roared and crowds cheered. But by 1970, the raceway was gone. Pardee Homes purchased the land and began developing the master-planned community we know as Spring Valley. The name, a nod to the nearby Spring Mountains and its location within the Las Vegas Valley, was chosen by Doug Pardee and sales manager Jack Whiteman. Residents sought to establish Spring Valley as an unincorporated town to avoid being annexed by other Las Vegas communities. They also aimed to ensure their tax contributions were fairly allocated for county services. Spring Valley has grown significantly since its inception, now encompassing over 33 square miles. Spring Valley boasts a vibrant cultural scene. A notable highlight is the thriving Chinatown district. Located along Spring Mountain Road, this bustling area is a melting pot of Asian cultures. It offers a unique experience with its colorful architecture, authentic restaurants, bustling markets, and specialty shops. Spring Valley is also home to Desert Breeze Park, one of the largest parks in the Clark County park system. Its 240 acres provide a green oasis amidst the desert landscape, hosting numerous events throughout the year, including the popular Bite of Las Vegas. Spring Valley represents a unique blend of suburban living and urban excitement. From its humble beginnings as a raceway to its current status as a thriving community, Spring Valley has continuously evolved, offering a distinct experience within the dynamic landscape of Las Vegas.
