“A church founded in 1913? In the middle of a bustling city like Houston?” someone might ask. That’s the story of Spring Baptist Church. It might surprise you to know that this church was actually first established in what was then a tiny rural railroad depot community. That’s right! Spring, Texas, the area where we now stand, had a very different identity back then. The very first building for Spring Baptist Church was shared by both Baptists and Methodists. It’s amazing to think how much this area has transformed since those early days. Over the years, Spring Baptist Church has mirrored Houston’s growth. The congregation grew, new buildings were added, and in 2007, they even expanded to a second campus, the Klein Campus. But some things remain constant. Spring Baptist Church still holds onto its founding mission: to share the good news of Jesus Christ. They’ve been doing just that since 1913, welcoming people from all walks of life.
