But the story of this church is really the story of its pastor, Eric Wilson.
Born and raised in Houston, Pastor Wilson’s life has been deeply intertwined with the city and its people. He could have easily chosen a different path, as comfortable careers with major corporations like Exxon and Hughes Tools beckoned. But the call to ministry, nurtured during his upbringing in his grandfather’s home, proved stronger.
Pastor Wilson’s journey wasn’t a straight line from pew to pulpit. It involved years of hard work, spiritual exploration, and service at several churches, including Little Rock Baptist Church.
It was at Little Rock Baptist Church where he honed his skills, preached his first sermon, and ultimately received the divine inspiration to found Spring Antioch Baptist Church. Imagine, a man with a stable career and a loving family taking a leap of faith to create something new. He had a vision for Spring Antioch Baptist Church as a beacon of hope and spiritual guidance for the community. And so, on a spring day in 1999, Spring Antioch Baptist Church held its very first service.

He understands the importance of community engagement and has served as President of the Spring Community Development Corporation and a member of the Old Town Spring Heights Task Force.
