The Reinbeker Redder 274. A simple address yet a hub of history. This is the Sprachheilschule Reinbeker Redder. More than just a school it’s a testament to Hamburg’s dedication to education.
Sprachheilschule Reinbeker Redder didn’t always stand here. It’s a story of mergers and moves. Originally the buildings were constructed in 1972. They housed another school the Schule Korachstrasse. Then in 2008 a significant shift occurred. The Grundschule Am Reinbeker Redder closed its doors. The Sprachheilschule Mummelmannsberg found a new home here. Its name changed to Sprachheilschule Reinbeker Redder.
The merging didn’t stop there. In 2012 two more schools joined the fold. The Förderschule An der Twiete and Förderschule Billwerder Strasse became part of this growing educational complex. Together they formed the Regionalen Bildungs- und Beratungszentrum Bergedorf or ReBBZ Bergedorf for short. The ReBBZ Bergedorf has multiple locations. Sprachheilschule Reinbeker Redder became the elementary school site. Secondary level education is in a different location Leuschnerstrasse.
The Sprachheilschule Reinbeker Redder continues to evolve. Plans are underway to consolidate the ReBBZ Bergedorf at this very location. The secondary school will move from Leuschnerstrasse. New buildings are planned including a new sports hall. Recent renovations show ongoing investment in the school. Two classroom buildings were refurbished in 2020 and 2021.
Today the Sprachheilschule Reinbeker Redder is a symbol of Hamburg’s dedication to inclusive and comprehensive education. It’s a vibrant place that offers a full spectrum of support. This includes special needs education speech therapy and much more. A place where students receive individual support. It’s a beacon for children in need of additional assistance. It embodies the spirit of educational growth and community spirit. Its history shows adaptation and resilience. The school is more than bricks and mortar. It’s a reflection of Hamburg’s evolving commitment to fostering every child’s potential.
