The Civic Dance Arts Program has been a cornerstone of San Diego’s cultural landscape since 1942. For over 80 years, it has introduced hundreds of thousands to the art of dance. Classes are offered at various city recreation centers and Balboa Park facilities. This makes dance accessible to children and adults from all backgrounds.

The San Diego Civic Dance Company formed in the 1980s. It provides a platform for advanced dancers to showcase their talent. The Company performs in concert at the Casa del Prado Theatre in Balboa Park each February. All dancers in the program can perform in one of 14 recital concerts in June.
