Juan Lugo pioneered the first Pentecostal churches in Puerto Rico. Dionicia Feliciano was the first Latina ordained by the AG. Isabel Flores co-founded the January 1918 organizational convention.

Demetrio and Nellie Bazan greatly impacted the AG. Both were ordained in 1920. Demetrio became the first Hispanic Latin American district superintendent in 1939.

Jose Giron led the Latin American district. By 1970, it had 403 churches. Francisca Blaisdell founded the Women’s Missionary Council in 1922. Concepcion Morgan Howard was a pioneer Latina Pentecostal evangelist.

Robert Fierro was a prominent Mexican-American AG evangelist. Jesse Miranda became the first Latino executive presbyter in 1995.

The first organization for Hispanic Assemblies of God churches formed in 1918. Today Asambleas de Dios congregations dot the American landscape.
