It is the duty of Sovereign King Church to publish what it believes. They use the Westminster Confession of Faith. They use the Larger and Shorter Catechisms and the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds. The confessions and creeds are accurate summaries of Scripture. They are good guides. They are also subordinate to the word of God.
Sovereign King Church is not Roman Catholic. The word catholic means universal. They believe it is important to have unity within this body. They want unity with the larger body of Christ. This includes Church history and churches throughout the world. They follow many Christians who have come before. They plan on being nothing new.
Part of their unity means that they recognize that the church universal has been divided on baptism. The Westminster Confession says that the children of believers ought to be baptized. Some members believe that. Some believe that baptism should be reserved for those who have made a credible profession of faith. They will not divide from each other on who should be baptized.
Salvation is by Grace through Faith in Christ to the glory of God. This is revealed in Scripture. They believe that nothing happens outside of God. He is eternally holy good and triune. By His will He created all things for His own glory. His sovereignty is unlimited. It extends to and over the salvation of His people. God has given His grace to His people freely. Faith is the only way we receive God`s saving grace.
Our faith is in the loving work of Jesus Christ. He lived a perfect life. He laid down his life on the cross. He was buried. He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven from where he will return. This faith itself is a gift of God so that no one may boast.
Accountability and unity with like-minded local churches is vital at Sovereign King Movement Church. They are a member of Evangel Presbytery. This is a group of churches and church plants. They hold each other accountable in doctrine and practice. They work together to further the kingdom of God. This happens through church planting and training pastors.
There is not one square inch of creation that Christ’s rule does not impact. His commands are for all people and nations. God’s law is not only the standard for the church. It is also for the family and the civil government. Fathers Pastors and Political leaders must obey him. At Sovereign King Church they want to see all of society live in obedience to God.
In particular they desire to see men and women live out their God-given and natural calling. God created both men and women in his image. Both are endowed with dignity and respect. God has endowed each sex with different gifts responsibilities and callings. Men are given authority to lead in the church family and society. Women are created to give and nurture life. Women are created to be the helper of man. Together they may be co-heirs in Christ. They believe God ordained marriage as the first and primary human relationship. Marriage is only between one man and one woman for life. One of its primary purposes is to be fruitful with children. Children are a gift from God to be cherished and trained in the admonition of the Lord.
