Founded on May 4, 1958, Southwest Baptist Church stands as a beacon of faith in San Diego. Southwest Baptist Church offers a unique perspective. Pastor Fermin Ancho led a successful Vacation Bible School in July 2024. The VBS theme was “BREAKER ROCK BEACH – GOD’S ROCK: SOLID TRUTH IN THE WORLD OF SHIFTING SANDS”. Thirteen people made professions of faith during the three-day event. Forty-eight adults, youth, and children participated. Benjamin Ancho and Abby Alvarez co-directed the VBS. They noted a significant increase in attendance from the previous year. Community outreach events and dedicated church members contributed to this growth. The VBS saw a 200% increase in new attendees.
