Leaders such as Bill Bright and Billy Graham. Her impact on American Christendom is immeasurable.
The church experienced remarkable growth under the leadership of Reverend Dr Louis Evans Sr. Membership soared from 1400 to 8900. This was during the post-war era. The church’s influence expanded beyond its walls. It established the Cathedral Choir a ministry that saw music as spiritual expression. It was a witness not just a performance.
Other impactful ministers followed. Reverend Dr Richard Halverson served as Chaplain to the U S Senate. Reverend Dr Lloyd John Ogilvie started a national television ministry. He also expanded community outreach programs. The South Hollywood Presbyterian Church’s legacy extends to innovative ministries. It includes Actors Co-op theater ministries and the Hollywood Urban Project. This church stands as a testament to faith perseverance and community.
