An allusion was made. The type-setter of the “Sefer ha-Ikkarim” parodied Isaiah. He said: “Out of Zion shall go forth the Law, and the word of the Lord from Soncino.” Abraham b. Hayyim was the type-setter for the Bible edition. Correctors included Solomon b. Perez Bonfoi and others.

Among the notable members of the Soncino family was Gershon. He was born in Soncino. Gershon traveled to collect manuscripts. He made a pun of his name. He printed it as “Ger Sham.” It referred to his many travels.

Today Soncino remembers its printing legacy. The Museum of Printing is located in a 14th-century tower. It was once inhabited by Jews. The museum commemorates the printing of the First Complete Hebrew Bible. This printing took place five centuries ago. It highlights Soncino’s place in printing history.
