“Licht der Hoffnung” or light of hope is more than just a slogan. It is the core mission of Solidarität Libanon e.V.

We are standing in front of Solidarität Libanon e.V. today. It is a place of worship. It is a testament to the strength and resilience of the Lebanese people. But its story extends far beyond these walls.

Solidarität Libanon e.V. is based on solidarity. It shows the bond between Germany and Lebanon. The association addresses the hardships faced by many families due to ongoing conflicts. These families have lost homes and livelihoods. Some have even lost loved ones.

The Lebanese community in Germany stands with those in Lebanon. They believe in the power of solidarity. Solidarität Libanon e.V. was founded to offer support during these difficult times. They understand that a single act of compassion can bring hope.

Let’s talk about history. Sporadic migration occurred from the Middle East to Germany in the 20th century. The real growth happened in 1975. The Lebanese Civil War drove thousands of people away. Many immigrated in the 1980s and early 1990s as refugees. In the late 1980s, many fled to Germany. From the late 1990s into the early 2000s, many Lebanese were naturalized.

Today people of Lebanese descent form one of Germany’s largest minorities. Many hold dual citizenship. Berlin has the largest Lebanese community. Other cities with high percentages include Essen, Bremen and Hannover. In 2023, estimates say 176000 people of Lebanese background live in Germany.

Solidarität Libanon e.V. also supports refugees. During the Lebanon war from 1975 to 1990, many Palestinians fled to Germany. They often lived in refugee camps in Lebanon before moving to Germany. These Palestinian immigrants usually came as stateless persons.

Consider donating to Solidarität Libanon e.V.. Your contribution can provide essential resources. It can help rebuild lives in Lebanon. Every donation brings light to those in need. It shows them they are not alone.

Imagine a child receiving aid. Imagine a family rebuilding their home. Think of the hope your contribution inspires. Even a small donation can change lives.

Solidarität Libanon e.V. is more than an organization. It is a beacon of hope. It embodies the power of community. It demonstrates the enduring spirit of the Lebanese people. Remember that together, we can rebuild hope for a better Lebanon.
