SMK Darul Ehsan

Hidden within the bustling heart of Batu Caves lies SMK Darul Ehsan. It’s more than just a school. It’s a living story waiting to be told. SMK Darul Ehsan began its life in 1995 as SMK Selayang Baru 2. It was built to accommodate the growing student population overflowing from SMK Selayang Baru. Imagine the initial cohort of just 81 students in forms 1 and 2, guided by a dedicated team of 84 teachers. The school’s motto, “Berdisiplin, Berilmu, Bertakwa” (Disciplined, Knowledgeable, God-fearing), has guided generations of students. By 1997, SMK Darul Ehsan had grown significantly, encompassing students from kindergarten to form 4, totaling 1922 eager learners. Form 6 studies were introduced in May 2001, expanding the school’s educational reach. A significant moment in the school’s history occurred on January 13, 1999. SMK Selayang Baru 2 was officially renamed SMK Darul Ehsan, a name bestowed with the blessing of the Sultan of Selangor. The school’s physical growth mirrored its expanding student body. Initially comprising three four-story blocks, an agricultural science block, a workshop, a canteen, and a hall, SMK Darul Ehsan continued to evolve. In 2000, Block E was added to house the growing sixth form population. The school hall was later christened Dewan Seri Samarlingga in 2014. Today, SMK Darul Ehsan thrives with over 2000 students, a dedicated faculty of over 140 educators, and a supportive administrative staff. SMK Darul Ehsan has blossomed into a vibrant educational hub. It stands as a testament to its commitment to nurturing young minds and fostering a dynamic learning environment in the heart of Batu Caves.
