Built with funding from the World Bank SMK Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh opened its doors in December 1993. A significant event for the burgeoning Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh community. This impressive secondary school initially welcomed 980 students. These students filled the classrooms of its Peralihan Tingkatan Satu Tingkatan Dua Tingkatan Tiga and Tingkatan Empat levels. Forty-four dedicated teachers guided them. The school’s location near the bustling commercial heart of Bukit Rahman Putra was strategic. It was also conveniently close to Sungai Buloh Hospital.

SMK Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh quickly became a vital part of the community. It served not only Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh residents. Students from Sungai Pelong and Paya Jaras also attended. Its growth mirrored the development of the town itself. From its humble beginnings the school expanded greatly. In 2009 it housed a remarkable 3007 students. 1521 boys and 1486 girls filled its halls. A testament to the community’s expansion. A staff of 156 teachers ensured quality education.

The school’s journey has been marked by significant milestones. Its upgrade from Grade B to Grade A in 1998 speaks volumes. It signifies an improvement in facilities teaching standards and educational excellence. The school experienced its highest student enrollment in 2008. The number exceeded 2900 students. This growth truly reflects the area’s population boom. Throughout the years many notable alumni have passed through its gates. Notable alumni include Nas Adila a participant in Akademi Fantasia 7 Nuremy Nadia Ramli a Metrowealth artist and Norizman Ismail a Grand Prix champion. These remarkable individuals are just a few who owe their beginnings to this institution.
