Tucked away inside the sprawling Mall of the Emirates, Ski Dubai is a marvel of engineering. It’s a winter wonderland in the heart of the desert. Ski Dubai opened its doors in November 2005. This massive indoor ski resort boasts a staggering 22,500 square meters of skiable terrain. Imagine yourself stepping onto the crisp, manufactured snow. The temperature inside Ski Dubai is maintained at a chilly -1 to 2 degrees Celsius year-round. A stark contrast to the scorching Dubai heat outside. Ski Dubai is home to an 85-meter-high indoor mountain. That’s the equivalent of a 25-story building. This mountain features five slopes of varying difficulty. There’s even a black diamond run for the adventurous. The longest run stretches for an impressive 400 meters, offering plenty of space to carve your own path through the snow. If skiing isn’t your thing, there’s also a 3,000-square-meter Snow Park. Here you’ll find toboggan runs, an icy body slide, climbing towers, and even an ice cave. Ski Dubai also houses a colony of penguins. These charming birds are let out of their enclosures several times a day, waddling around to the delight of visitors. You can even book a penguin encounter for a more up-close and personal experience. Ski Dubai has won awards for its innovative design and remarkable achievement, including the Thea Outstanding Achievement Award in 2007. It’s a testament to the ingenuity and ambition that defines Dubai.
