SK Taman Selasih

Opened in 1990, SK Taman Selasih has witnessed generations of students walk its halls. The school, affectionately known as SEKASEH, isn’t just a place of learning; it’s a cornerstone of the Taman Selasih Fasa 2 community in Batu Caves, Selangor. SK Taman Selasih first opened its doors on December 1st, 1990. The Ministry of Education appointed Encik Ismail bin Hj. Sali as the first headmaster. Initially, the school had 29 classes. Many of the first students came from the nearby Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Gombak. Imagine those early days, with 46 teachers and 1224 students filling the brand new classrooms. SK Taman Selasih began with two three-story buildings, Blocks A and B. Block A housed eight classrooms, a staff room, a prayer room, storage, a computer lab, a treatment and counseling room, a music room, and two staff restrooms. Block B contained another eight classrooms, a library, an AV room, an art room, a staff restroom, and a practical skills room. A few years later, in 1993, Block D was added. This block added four more classrooms built with prefabricated construction. Beyond the academic buildings, SK Taman Selasih provides ample space for recreation. The school grounds include a playing field, a volleyball court, and a multipurpose court. Over the years, SK Taman Selasih has expanded its facilities to include a science lab, a hydroponics garden, a Teknopen room, a SAC room, a preschool classroom, a teaching aids room, and a sports equipment storage room. Today, SK Taman Selasih continues to thrive. It serves a vibrant community, fostering not only academic growth, but also a well-rounded education that prepares students for the future. From its humble beginnings with just two buildings, SK Taman Selasih has become a vital part of the Batu Caves landscape.
