Here stands SK Bandar Tun Hussein Onn 2. This school has a story that began before its buildings even opened. SK Bandar Tun Hussein Onn 2 started construction in 1999. The school was scheduled to begin instruction in January 2003. However, the buildings weren’t ready.

Imagine the challenges. The school’s staff and students had to share space with Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Tun Hussein Onn for six months. It was quite a squeeze. Despite the setbacks, preparations continued. Puan Mordziyah bt Bidin and Puan Zaiton bt Salim were assigned to SK Bandar Tun Hussein Onn 2 in November 2002. Their mission was to manage student and teacher admissions for the 2003 session.

Finally, in June 2003, SK Bandar Tun Hussein Onn 2 officially opened. Initially, it consisted of three four-story buildings. These were known as Block A, Block B, and Block C. There was also Dataran Ilmu. This was a gathering place for students. Today, SK Bandar Tun Hussein Onn 2 has 31 classrooms.

Consider the facilities. SK Bandar Tun Hussein Onn 2 includes a staff room, a meeting room and science labs. There is also a living skills room and a counseling room. Students benefit from a school resource center, a music room and a surau. A sick bay, changing rooms and computer labs are available too. The school even has art education rooms and general storage areas.

In January 2007, SK Bandar Tun Hussein Onn 2 expanded. A preschool class opened. It had 25 students, one teacher and one assistant. To accommodate growing enrollment, a new single-story building was constructed. It had four classrooms. This was completed in November 2008. By 2010, two cabin blocks were added. They housed four additional classrooms.

In 2009, SK Bandar Tun Hussein Onn 2 had 1,980 students. There were 1,022 boys and 958 girls. The school also employed 98 teachers. In 2024, the school had 1,729 students and 124 teachers. The support staff included nine people.

Currently, Tuan Yazid bin Zakaria leads SK Bandar Tun Hussein Onn 2 as Guru Besar. He receives support from several assistant headmasters. Puan Zubaidah binti Muhammad serves as Penolong Kanan Pentadbiran. Puan Saluwa binti Harun is Penolong Kanan Hal Ehwal Murid. Puan Zuhailah binti Semail holds the position of Penolong Kanan Kokurikulum. Puan Intan Marhayu binti Rahman is Guru Penolong Kanan Petang. The school also benefits from the support of PIBG. This is led by Kapten Dr Ahmad Sazeli bin Abd Sabar.
