The Sikh Temple of Utah, located on Redwood Road in Taylorsville, welcomes everyone, regardless of their background or beliefs. Guru Nanak Dev Ji founded Sikhism in the 15th century in Punjab, India. His teachings emphasized the oneness of God and the equality of all people. The Sikh faith was then guided by ten Gurus. These Gurus nurtured the community and strengthened its foundations. The last human Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, formally established the Khalsa in 1699. The Khalsa are a community of devout Sikhs. They embody the principles of equality and justice. Guru Gobind Singh Ji also declared the Guru Granth Sahib as the eternal Guru. The Guru Granth Sahib is the Sikh holy scripture. It contains the wisdom of the Sikh Gurus and other spiritual leaders. At the Sikh Temple of Utah, the Sunday service is a central event. The schedule spans from 7 AM to 7 PM, and visitors are welcome to join at any time. Remember, the temple observes certain customs. A head covering is required, and attendees should dress modestly. Seating is primarily on the floor, though chairs are provided for those who need them. If you’re curious about the prayers, don’t worry. English-speaking members are present to assist you. There’s also a projection in the main hall that provides translations.
