Established over fifty years ago Shri Shiv Mandir Sanatan Dharm Sabha stands before you a testament to faith and community. It began humbly. A few pujaris and pandits started small puja archanas on a tiny stage. Shri Narender Pandey erected the first Shivling in 1973 a pivotal moment in the temple’s history.
The Shri Shiv Mandir Sanatan Dharm Sabha truly blossomed in 1983. The Delhi Government funded a beautiful new temple structure. By 1985 it was complete. This wasn’t just a building though. It became a vibrant hub for the community.
In 2001 Baba Nagpal Ji added many more statues. These included Lord Shiva Radha Krishna Shiv Parvati Ram Darbar Maa Durga and Hanuman. A small temple for Lord Sai Baba was added in May 2015. The Shri Shiv Mandir Sanatan Dharm Sabha continues to grow and evolve.
The Shri Shiv Mandir Sanatan Dharm Sabha is more than just stones and statues. It’s a place of vibrant celebrations. Ram Navmi Navratra Janmashtami Durga Puja and Ganesh Chaturthi are just some of the many festivals celebrated here. Every day except Sunday a bhandara is held offering food to all. Sundays feature Kirtan Samarohs led by the Krishan Prem Trust. The Shri Shiv Mandir Sanatan Dharm Sabha provides spiritual nourishment.
Shri Mohan Lal Chopra the temple president plays a crucial role. He publishes a Panchang Purv Darshika an almanac each year. This ensures the community has access to important dates and rituals. The Shri Shiv Mandir Sanatan Dharm Sabha continues to serve as a cornerstone of faith and community in Delhi. It’s a place where devotion history and community spirit intertwine.
