Shiu Pong College is one of the residential colleges at the University of Macau. The University of Macau is on Hengqin Island. This land was allocated to Macau by the Chinese Central Government. The University of Macau’s new campus construction finished in 2013.
But what makes Shiu Pong College special? It embraces a Christian ethos. This focus became a reality through a generous donation. Dr. and Mrs. Hung Hin Shiu made this possible. The university named S9 Shiu Pong College after them on July 3, 2013. Professor Kenneth W.Y. Leung became the founding Master in October 2013.
The college’s motto encapsulates its vision. It is simple but profound: “YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.” Light symbolizes truth and liberation. Shiu Pong College strives to empower students to embody this light. They should become role models in their respective fields. They should positively influence the world.
Professor Tam Sik Chung, the Interim College Master, extends a warm welcome to the Shiu Pong College family. He encourages students to explore the college’s offerings.
