Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium was built in 2004 for $22 million. It quickly became a prestigious venue hosting unforgettable matches. The stadium is about 30 minutes from Abu Dhabi city center. It may seem remote but it is worth the drive.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2021 also took place here. In 2010, the cricket ground became the home of Pakistan International Cricket.

PSL officially came to Abu Dhabi Stadium in 2019 with four matches. The PSL 6 finale was on this pitch in 2021. The Indian Premier League played its first games here in 2014.

Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium has hosted many thrilling cricket matches. There have been 55 ODI matches, 68 T20 matches, 37 IPL matches and 24 PSL matches. This shows how active and important the stadium is.

The Pakistan Super League Season 6 had its finale here. The stadium witnessed a record-breaking victory. It was during the Islamabad United versus Peshawar Zalmi match. The Men’s ICC T20 World Cup 2021 was another major event. It marked the first significant ICC World event. The World Cup featured 14 games including a semi-final match between England and New Zealand.

The stadium complex includes Nursery 1 called Tolerance Oval and Nursery 2 called Mohan’s Oval. These grounds hosted a Twenty20 International match. It was between the UAE and Australia in 2018. In September 2019, the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament chose Tolerance Oval to host cricket matches.

Near the Sheikh Zayed Stadium is the Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Hub. It is a multipurpose training hub with tennis courts, football fields and a swimming pool. There is also a gymnasium, a restaurant and ample parking. Top-level security ensures everyone’s safety.

Sheikh Zayed Stadium generally favors batsmen. The pitch has even pace and bounce. Bowlers can find lateral movement especially in the second half. Spinners benefit from the dry pitch.

Despite being relatively new Sheikh Zayed Stadium is significant in cricket history. Many national and international cricketers have played here. They have set numerous records on this ground.
