Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jinjang. A name that echoes with history and the aspirations of generations. Our journey begins in April 1962, when Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jinjang first opened its doors as a continuation school. Imagine a time before the imposing structure we see today. The school’s early years were a period of transformation. In 1966, it evolved into a Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan (English) with the start of its first transition class. The school’s physical form began to take shape on May 1st, 1967. Eighteen classrooms, a science lab, rooms for cooking and sewing, a library (then called a “khutub khanah”), staff room, workshops for woodwork and metalwork, a technical drawing room, and an office were constructed. Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jinjang wasn’t just a collection of rooms; it was a space where young minds could explore, learn, and grow. The official opening ceremony, a grand affair, took place on July 19th, 1968. The late Tun Abdul Razak, then Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, graced the occasion. Fast forward to 2009, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jinjang had grown to accommodate a student body of 2645, comprising 1383 boys and 1262 girls, guided by 133 dedicated teachers. Located in Jinjang Utara, Kuala Lumpur, the school’s contact details are readily available. You can reach them by phone at 03-62576438 or by fax at 03-62588086. Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jinjang continues to stand as a testament to the power of education and community.
