How about a journey back to December 1, 1993? That’s when Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Tun Razak first opened its doors. It stands about 20 km from the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
Puan Limah binti Ahmad was the school’s founder and first principal. Nineteen teachers and two support staff members aided her in getting things started. SMK Bandar Tun Razak began with 10 classes and 400 students.
The school has seen several principals. Tuan Syed Abu Hassan bin Syed Mohd Nor was one. Pn. Hajjah Nabun binti Ahmad also led the school. Pn. Naemah binti Hassan Nordin served as principal too. En. Rosley bin Hitam took on the role. En. Rosli bin Suleiman then led. Pn. Shabariah binti Mohd Sidik is the current principal of SMK Bandar Tun Razak.
SMK Bandar Tun Razak consists of three building blocks. There is also an automotive workshop. The school provides enough facilities for its students. These include a library and a media room. Classrooms are plentiful. There is a school field. A surau provides a prayer space. Students can eat in the canteen. Workshops teach living skills. Computer and science labs offer hands-on learning. There are also special rooms like an English Language Room. History, Sewing, Cooking, Self-Management and Art rooms are available at SMK Bandar Tun Razak.
SMK Bandar Tun Razak’s motto is “Berani, Tekad, Responsif”. That translates to “Brave, Determined, Responsive.” These words guide the school’s spirit. The school song reflects these values. It speaks of challenges and making wise choices. The song inspires students to build themselves and their nation. The Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Tun Razak song encourages students to hold on to good values.
SMK Bandar Tun Razak stands as a testament to education and growth. From its humble beginnings with Puan Limah binti Ahmad to its present form. It continues to shape young minds. Its motto and song inspire students to be brave, determined, and responsive.
