A century of learning. That’s what Sekolah Kebangsaan USJ 12 represents. Standing proudly in Subang Jaya Sekolah Kebangsaan USJ 12 is more than just a school. It’s a vibrant hub of education. Sekolah Kebangsaan USJ 12 opened its doors on September 1 2000. The school’s foundation was laid in 1998. Construction was completed early in 2000. Three two-story buildings stood ready. The first headmistress Puan Paridah Anum bt Tajuddin received the keys on August 30 2000. She began her service on September 1 2000. Furniture and basic facilities arrived gradually.

For months only five teachers worked without students. The school fully opened on January 3 2001. 460 students from Years One to Three enrolled. Twenty-four teachers joined the school. Four were male twenty were female. The staff included one administrative assistant and one general assistant.

The school grew rapidly. By 2006 1096 students attended. Sixty teachers and twenty-nine classrooms made up the school. In 2007 there were 51 teachers four non-teaching staff and 1049 students. Twenty-eight classrooms housed the students. The first Year Six students took the UPSR exam in 2004. They achieved excellent results.

In 2008 Sekolah Kebangsaan USJ 12 received a Gold Award. The award was from the Petaling District Headmasters Council. The school achieved over 90% and a school average grade (GPS) of less than 1.50 in the UPSR. The school also won first place in the state-level competition. It was for the ‘SPELL IT RIGHT CHALLENGER 2008′. It was organized by RHB-NST in Subang Jaya.

The school’s continued success brought further awards. In 2009 Sekolah Kebangsaan USJ 12 won the Top Overall Academic Achievement Award (UPSR). It was presented during Teacher’s Day and the Petaling Perdana PPD Quality Awards. That same year the school won first place in the National Robotics Competition. This was in the Open Category for Primary Schools. It was organized by Sasbadi and the National Science Centre (MOSTI). In the national finals the school placed third. It also won the Best Innovation Award.

The accolades continued. In 2010 Sekolah Kebangsaan USJ 12 received a major honor. The school received a New Offer Award. This was to the Principals and Headmasters of the NKRA Education. It was presented by YAB Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Muhyiddin bin Haji Mohd Yassin. He was the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education. The school also received a Certificate of Appreciation. This was for receiving the Special Award (Bai’ah 2010). It was at the Teacher’s Day and Petaling Perdana PPD Quality Day celebrations in 2011. The school also received a Certificate of No Reprimand (Satisfactory) for the 2010 Financial Year Audit.

In 2011 Sekolah Kebangsaan USJ 12 was nominated as a High-Performing School. Its School Average Grade (GPS) was 1.7 in the 2011 UPSR. The school’s strong partnership with the PIBG ensured the well-being of its students. The PIBG donated new tables and chairs. The comfortable environment supported the teaching and learning process. At the end of 2011 the school received new computers. This supported the government’s initiative to strengthen Bahasa Malaysia and English (MBMMBI) in 2012.

Today Sekolah Kebangsaan USJ 12 continues its legacy. It’s a testament to public education in Malaysia.
