Imagine the echoes of children’s laughter bouncing off these walls. We are standing in front of Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Sea. This school has been a cornerstone of the SS2 community since its establishment.
Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Sea began its journey on January 3, 1983. Abdul Ghafar bin Mohd Diah was the first headmaster. In the beginning, there were only 17 teachers, four staff members and 491 students. The school started with just one three-story building called Block A. It housed 12 classrooms.
The school’s establishment met the growing needs of the SS2 residential area. It aligned with the government’s vision. The government wanted to cultivate an educated population. This was to ensure the progress of the nation.
Over the years, Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Sea expanded to accommodate its growing student body. In June 1986, the Ministry of Education approved the construction of Block B. July 1993 saw the completion of Block C. These new blocks provided essential facilities. They included classrooms, reading rooms, science labs and workshops.
A significant milestone was the opening of the school hall in July 1996. Vincent Lim Kuo Phau officiated the opening during the Annual Sports Day. The hall enabled the school to host various activities. It also fostered stronger ties with the local community.
Many dedicated individuals have led Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Sea. They include Sunder Murthy, Suppiah N, and Norlida bt. Alias. Others are Hj. Jakaria b. Jalaludin, Turis b. Wasimon, and Rohani bt. Salleh. The list continues with Hjh. Bibi bt. Abd. Rahman, Lim Eng Tai, and Ooi Ban Aik. Suwarni bt. Jumain and Nazliza bt. Samsudin also served. Since March 18, 2022, Mohammad Izaham bin Mohammad Noor has been at the helm.
