Sekolah Kebangsaan Cheras Indah first opened its doors on January 4 1999. Initially the Sekolah Kebangsaan Cheras Indah had 247 students. This included four special education students. Only 12 teachers were there to guide them. Two support staff members helped. Today Sekolah Kebangsaan Cheras Indah has grown. It now has nearly 500 students. The teaching staff has increased to 45 dedicated teachers. The support team has also grown to 10 members.
In 2009 Sekolah Kebangsaan Cheras Indah had 198 boys and 194 girls. This made a total of 392 students. There were 45 teachers at that time. By 2021 the number of students was 415. The school had a strong teaching force of 52 teachers. There were also 10 support staff members.
