“Is this where the magic happens?” a young voice chirped. Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Sri Damansara 2 buzzed with the energy of children. The air hummed with anticipation. Located in Kuala Lumpur, on the edge of Bandar Sri Damansara’s hills, Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Sri Damansara 2, or SKBBSD2 as it’s affectionately known, was about to embark on its journey. The first cohort of 360 students, from grades one through four, filled the classrooms along with eight dedicated teachers. Three assistant principals and two support staff completed the initial team. Leading them was the school’s first principal, Pn. Ainon Marthdiah Binti Ahmad. The first Parent-Teacher Association chairman, Dato’ Che’ Khalid Bin Mohd Noh, shared their vision for a vibrant learning community. SKBBSD2, coded BBA8253, quickly became an integral part of the Bandar Baru Sri Damansara 2 neighborhood. Its address at Jalan Cempaka SD 12/2, with the postal code 52200, became a familiar destination for families. By 2015, the student population had grown to 630, a testament to the school’s growing reputation. The school’s emblem tells its own story. The year 2000 marks its founding. A book symbolizes knowledge. Two gears represent science and technology. The seven-petaled cempaka flower acknowledges its location on Jalan Cempaka and its July opening. The curved motto embodies the school’s ambition to nurture well-rounded individuals. The colors, yellow and red, taken from the Selangor flag, represent adherence to rules and courage respectively. Green, the school’s official color, signifies harmony and unity. Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Sri Damansara 2 continues to thrive, its commitment to education unwavering.
